The PsiWin version 2.3.3 has been tested on WindowsNT 4, Windows 2000 and WindowsXP as a viable alternative to the MCLINK program for communication with the PSION Workabout. There are some precautions that should be taken when installing the software. Do NOT connect the PSION Workabout to the computer until after the installation is complete. Also, do NOT install any software on the PSION, this is not necessary. When offered choices about email updates and automatic synchronization remove those selections. These are not appropriate for the Reliance PSION Workabout. The only correct selection is the utility to copy files. To run the installed software, double click on the 'My PSION' icon. Once the software is installed it will attempt to connect to the PSION. At that point PsiWin is going to search for the PSION. A window will appear showing the attempt to connect to the PSION. After a short wait a window named 'Connect Problem' will appear. Click on Properties Choose the appropriate COM port, baud rate 19200, and Start CopyAnywhere at connection. After you click on OK the 'Connect Problem' window will appear. If you need to reboot the PSION hold down Ctrl+Psion Key+Del Connect the PSION workabout to the COM port you chose. On the Psion command line, type the following: LINK -B19200 -P1 . This starts the communication program at 19200 baud on port A. (The Psion will not appear to be doing anything, this is normal) In the Connect Problem window on the PC click on Retry. Copy the following files from the PC to the PSION Ramdrive M: - config.gis - dylanim.dyl - dylctop.dyl - dylglib.dyl - dylmicc.dyl - dylmipp.dyl - example.fdf - example.wpt - example2.fdf - generic.fdf - geo.dat - geo.dyl - graph.dyl - hcom.img - logogis.pic - r.img - dsst.img - fetr.img - streng.lng - strpor.lng - script.scr - script1.scr - sys$8087.ldd After the files are copied disconnect the PsiWin software from the PSION. Disonnect the PSION cable from the computer. Test the Psion 1. After the transfer, exit LINK on the Psion by typing STOP LINK and then pressing Y at the prompt. 2. Disconnect the Psion from the PC. 3. Connect the Psion to a SCA receiver. 4. Press Psion-Space to turn on Caps Lock (Psion key is directly below the Shift key). 5. Type R on the Psion. 6.
