Access List Configuration

You can create an access list for a virtual router or to add an entry to an existing access list. The maximum number of access list entries allowed for each virtual router is 99. You can enter up to 10 prefixes per access list.

To restrict the routing information that the router learns or advertises, you can filter routing updates. The filter consists of an access list that is applied to updates to or from a neighbor. The filtering of routing information can be applied on a per-neighbor or per-peer-group basis.

To Create an Access List

  1. Enter the necessary information:

Access List ID: An integer that identifies the access list. The range of valid integers to select is from 1 - 99.

Sequence No: An integer that indicates the order in the access list in which the IP/Netmask and action entry occurs. This will affect when the entry is evaluated for packet forwarding. You can add additional sequence numbers for each access list ID.

IP/Netmask: The IP address and network mask of the route evaluated for entry into the current router.

Action: Indicates whether the current virtual router accepts or discards the route based on its IP address and network mask values. Click either Permit to accept routes with the specified IP address, or Deny to block routes with the specified IP address.

  1. Click OK to save the settings.
