Route summarization reduces the number of routes that a router must maintain because it represents a series of network addresses as a single summary address. Once you have redistributed a series of routes from another routing protocol into an OSPF routing domain, you can bundle the routes into one generalized or summarized network route.
Enter the necessary information:
IP/Netmask: Enter the summarized IP address and netmask of the imported routes.
Tag: A value that acts as an identifier for the summarized prefix.
Click Add to save the settings.
The new summarized route displays.
Click Remove in the Action column of the route that you want to delete.
A system message prompts you to confirm the removal.
Click OK to confirm the removal, or Cancel to cancel it.
From this page, you can perform the following configurations:
To configure basic OSPF parameters, seeOSPF Virtual Router Settings.
To configure OSPF areas, see OSPF Areas.
To configure OSPF redistribution rules, seeOSPF Redistribution Rules.
To configure virtual links, seeOSPF Virtual Links.
