Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE) merges PPP, which is usually used for dialup connections, with the Ethernet protocol, which can connect multiple users at a site to the same customer premises equipment. This connection allows many users to share the same physical connection, while access control, billing, and type of service is handled on a per-user basis.
Note: Some devices do not support PPPoE.
This table lists the PPPoE settings configured on the device and contains the following information:
PPPoE Instance: Indicates the name of the PPPoE instance.
Interface: Indicates the interface to which the PPPoE instance is bound.
User: Indicates the user name configured for the PPPoE instance.
Mac address: Indicates the MAC address for the connection.
Enabled: Indicates if the PPPoE instance is currently enabled or disabled.
State: Indicates the status of the PPPoE session: Disabled (currently inactive) or Enabled (currently in progress).
Action: Indicates if an admin connected or disconnected the PPPoE session.
Configure: Click Edit to modify an existing configuration. Click Remove to remove a PPPoE instance.
