LPR Service

The Line Printer (LPR) is a platform-independent, TCP-based printing protocol widely used on the Internet for remote printing that allows multiple platforms to print to the same printer without any extra configurations.

To modify one or more of the following settings for LPR, enter a new value in the Current column for the parameter you want to adjust, and then click Apply:

Maximum Banner String Length: Specifies the maximum length of the banner. Valid range: 1 through 1024; default: 32.

Maximum Control File Size: Specifies the maximum value for the control file size. Valid range: 1 through 4,294,967,295; default: 1024.

Maximum Control Filename Length: Specifies the maximum length of the control file name. Valid range: 1 through 1024; default: 64.

Maximum Sub-Command Length in RECEIVE JOB Command: Specifies the maximum subcommand length for the RECEIVE-JOB command. Valid range: 1 through 8192; default: 256.

Maximum Data File Size: Specifies the maximum data file size. Valid range: 1 through 4,294,967,295; default: 65535.

Maximum Data Filename Length: Specifies the maximum length for a data file name. Valid range: 1 through 1024; default: 64.

Maximum Filename Length for Format Related Sub Commands: Specifies the maximum filename length for format-related subcommands. Valid range: 1 through 1024; default: 32.

Maximum Font Length: Specifies the maximum font length. valid range: 1 through 1024; default: 64.

Maximum Email Length: Specifies the maximum size of e-mail. Valid range: 1through 1024; default: 32.

Maximum Reply Length from Server: Specifies the maximum length of the reply from the server. Valid range: 1 through 8192; default: 256.

Maximum Symbolic Link Length: Specifies the maximum symbolic length. Valid range: 1 through 1024; default 1024.
