Interface Monitoring Configuration

A security device can monitor the physical and logical state of interfaces and then take action based on observed changes. When the total weight of the monitored interfaces exceeds the monitor failure threshold, the monitoring interface can change its state from up to down or from down to up.

Note: You can configure the device so that the combined weights from failed interfaces, security zones, and a tracked IP object are required for the monitor failure threshold to be exceeded. Alternatively, you can set the weight of any one of these monitored objects so that its failure alone exceeds the monitor failure threshold.

To Configure Interface Monitoring

  1. Select one or more interfaces that you want this interface to monitor.

  2. Assign each interface that you select a weight to contribute toward the monitor failure threshold. The weight can be between 1 and 255.

  3. Click Apply to save your settings.
