GNUTELLA Service

Gnutella is a P2P file-sharing protocol and application without any centralized servers. Some other applications using the Gnutella protocol are BearShare, Limewire, Morpheus, and ToadNode.

To modify one or more of the following settings for Gnutella, enter a new value in the Current column for the parameter you want to adjust, and then click Apply:

Maximum TTL Hops: Specifies the maximum number of network forwarding devices (hops) already passed plus the remaining Time to Live (TTL) value indicated in the Gnutella header. Minimum: 1; maximum: 10; default: 8.

Maximum Line Length: Specifies the maximum number of bytes in a Gnutella command line. Minimum: 1; maximum 4096; default: 2048.

Maximum Query Size: Specifies the maximum number of bytes in a query sent between two Gnutella peers. Minimum: 256; maximum: 4096; default: 256.
