A Device-Unique Identification (DUID) identifies a network device such as a host or a router. You can use the DUID (or a name associated with the DUID) to determine how an interface performs prefix delegation for a particular router or host that has a particular DUID.
Each DUID entry table lists the following information:
IAPD-ID: An Identity Association Prefix Delegation-Identification (IAPD-ID) is a positive integer that identifies a certain prefix on the server. The client can use this value to request a specific prefix from the server.
Prefix: The 48-bit to 64-bit prefix for each DUID entry that you want to specify for use on a DHCPv6 server.
Preferred Lifetime: The period that the entry is active. It can be permanent or specified in the format days:hours:minutes:seconds.
Valid Lifetime (optional): The period during which the entry is valid. It can be permanent or specified in the format days:hours:minutes:seconds.
Configure: This column lists Edit and Remove options.
You can choose to view 5, 10, 20, 50, or 100 entries per page by selecting the number you want to view from the dropdown list in the upper left-hand corner of the page.
To create a new DUID entry, click New DUID.
To add a prefix entry, click Add Prefix Entry, which appears across from the DUID entry name in the shaded header.
To delete a DUID entry, click Remove, which appears in the shaded header.
