Webmail Pattern List

Note: Juniper Networks supports external or internal antivirus (AV) on select devices. Your security device communicates with the external AV scan engine using Internet Content Adaptation Protocol (ICAP).

The AV scanner examines HTTP Webmail for URL patterns. A URL pattern consists of the URL path, host, and arguments. The AV scanner performs a virus scan, when the URL completely matches the path, host, and argument fields.

Several well-known Webmail patterns are predefined. For example, patterns for America Online (AOL), Yahoo!, and Hotmail Webmail services are identified by a specific URL path. The URL can also contain host and other argument information. You can, however, edit the existing name and path, and you can add host and arguments associated with a specific HTTP Webmail pattern.

The table lists the following information on Webmail patterns:

Pattern Name: Lists the name of the defined Webmail pattern.

Path: Displays the URL path for the Webmail type.

Host: Displays the host name included in the URL.

Args: Displays URL arguments that begin with a question mark (?).

Configure: Click Edit to edit a specific Webmail pattern. Then, modify the pattern elements on the Webmail Configuration page. Click Remove to delete a Webmail pattern.

Click New to create a new Webmail pattern, and enter the pattern elements on the Webmail Configuration page.
